Hardware Acceleration on the SuperSavage IX/MX 0 comments

I've finally gotten this working on my Thinkpad T21. My FPS on glxgears leapt from around 80 to 480. Not stellar but a hell of a lot better than what i had. I'm seeing the occasional lockup when starting X, and occasional artifacts on screen. But for a driver thats still in cvs its great. If anyone else out there wants to try it out go to http://www.freedesktop.org/~dri/snapshots download the most recent of the following files common-YYYYMMDD-linux.i386.tar.bz2 savage-YYYYMMDD-linux.i386.tar.bz2 (YYYYMMDD is the date of that snapshot) extract them both to the same directory and run the ./install.sh script as root. You might also need the XFree86 binary from http://freedesktop.org/~dri/snapshots/extras/XFree86.bz2 Just extract the binary, backup your existing binary and overwrite. You can find you XFree86 binary by typing which XFree86. All I need now is to get the modules to load automatically so I don't have to reinstall after every reboot.
